Arlington County is about 26 square miles directly across the Potomac from Washington, D.C., and the requests we route follow the way families travel here. The Orange and Silver lines link Virginia Square, Ballston, Clarendon and Rosslyn. The Blue and Yellow lines link Pentagon City and Crystal City. I-66, I-395, US-50, Glebe Road and Columbia Pike cover everyone driving. Around that county line sit three neighbouring jurisdictions with their own rules. Falls Church is an independent city inside the county's ring. The City of Alexandria is an independent city to the south. McLean, Annandale, Bailey's Crossroads and Seven Corners are Fairfax County communities that share the same roads and the same orthodontic market. A request here is routed by address rather than by the word Arlington. The school division, the water utility and the locality on the paperwork all change within a few miles. Tell us the patient's age, the bite concern and how you are paying. This free service puts the request in front of licensed orthodontists who cover that address and quote in writing. Nothing is charged for the introduction, and no practice is ranked by what it pays us.

Water is the clearest example of why the address decides the routing. Inside Arlington County, water comes from the Potomac River and is treated at the Dalecarlia Treatment Plant by the Washington Aqueduct Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (https://www.arlingtonva.us/Government/Programs/Water-Utilities/Water/Water-Quality-Reports). Part of the county, the Willston Pressure Zone, is supplied with water purchased from Fairfax Water. It is sampled as its own consecutive system, so two addresses inside one county can sit on two different systems. Cross into Fairfax County or Falls Church and the utility changes to Fairfax Water, so the county's report no longer describes the tap. We are an independent matching service, never a provider. We do not diagnose, treat or straighten teeth, and we hold no licence for any of it. The orthodontist who takes the case holds the contract, the licence and the warranty, and the family pays that practice directly.
