Invisalign is the clear-aligner brand adults and teenagers ask for by name. Published ranges put aligner treatment at $3,000 to $7,000, with an insurance share of $1,500 to $3,500 where a plan covers orthodontics, and Invisalign publishes its own case example with the fee, the covered share and the monthly figure.
Arlington County holds about 243,931 residents and its school division opened the 2026-27 year with 27,173 students, so practices around Ballston, Clarendon, Crystal City and Columbia Pike see adult and teenage aligner cases side by side. Aligner treatment is the option adults ask about most, because the trays come out for eating and they are hard to notice in conversation. The trade-off is compliance: a tray that spends the day in its case does not move teeth. This page sets out what Invisalign costs in the published ranges, who is a candidate, what the consultation covers and how to compare providers. We are an independent matching service, not a practice: your request goes to licensed Arlington orthodontists, and they assess, quote and treat.

| Published overall range (second source) | $3,000 - more than $12,000 |
Invisalign is a brand of clear aligner system. A digital scan or impression is taken, the movement is planned on software, and a sequence of removable plastic trays is made. Each tray is worn on a schedule the orthodontist sets and each one moves the teeth a little further toward the planned finish. The trays come out for eating and for brushing.
It is not a single product and it is not a treatment you can run yourself. The brand publishes more than one version of the appliance, for different ages and case sizes, and the version that suits a case is the orthodontist's decision, not the patient's.
Some cases need small tooth-coloured attachments bonded to the teeth to give a tray something to grip, and many finishes need a short refinement set at the end. Both are normal parts of the plan rather than a sign that something went wrong.
Aligners work best on crowding, spacing and mild to moderate bite problems in patients whose teeth have finished coming through. They are a common choice for adults, who can take them out for work and for photographs, and for teenagers who will wear them as instructed.
They are a weaker tool in some cases. A growing child with teeth still to erupt, a skeletal bite problem, or a case that needs teeth moved in ways a tray cannot grip may be planned with fixed braces, with a phase of each, or with a referral for another opinion. Only the treating orthodontist can say which of those your case is.
The other candidacy question is the patient, not the teeth. Aligners depend on the patient wearing them for the hours the practice sets. A plan that is followed loosely takes longer and can finish short of the plan, which is why a practice will size up the patient's routine before it quotes.
Published ranges put clear aligner treatment at $3,000 to $7,000, with an insurance share of $1,500 to $3,500 where a plan covers orthodontics at all. Comprehensive treatment of any kind is published at $3,000 to more than $10,000, and a second published source puts the overall range at $3,000 to more than $12,000.
Invisalign publishes its own case example: a $7,000 doctor's fee, $5,600 covered by insurance, a $1,400 balance, and an estimated $58 a month over 24 months. The brand also states that the price varies by provider, so two Arlington practices can quote different totals for the same case.
No Arlington-specific Invisalign average is published, so we do not print one. What decides your number is the case, the version of the appliance and what the fee bundles. A fee that includes records, all aligners, refinements, removal and the retainer is not comparable with a lower fee that prices those separately.
The Orange and Silver lines run through Clarendon, Virginia Square, Ballston and Rosslyn, with I-66 and US-50 doing the rest of the work for families driving in. Before you choose, ask how many visits the treatment needs and whether the office can see the patient before school or after work. A short county makes travel easy; the visit count decides whether it stays easy.
Clarendon is on the same county system as the rest of Arlington: Potomac River water treated at the Dalecarlia Treatment Plant by the Washington Aqueduct Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The county's annual Consumer Confidence Report covers that supply for the year. The Willston Pressure Zone, one part of the county, is supplied by water purchased from Fairfax Water and sampled separately, so the street address still decides the system.

Invisalign's own published case example shows a $7,000 fee, $5,600 covered, a $1,400 balance and about $58 a month over 24 months. No Arlington-specific average is published, so the figure that decides what you pay is the written fee from a practice after it has seen the case.

Invisalign's own published examples run about two years for a teenage case and about one year for an adult case, with a short refinement set common at the end. Wear time decides how closely the plan holds. The practice sets the daily target and reviews progress at intervals.
